ISO 55001 gap assessment and Strategic Asset Management Plan development for eight energy-from-waste facilities across the UK — covering governance, asset data, maintenance practice and performance reporting.
The operator managed eight energy-from-waste facilities under increasing regulatory and stakeholder scrutiny on asset management maturity. A formal ISO 55001 gap assessment was required to benchmark current practice and define a credible improvement roadmap ahead of planned third-party certification.
Optimal conducted structured gap assessments at each of the eight facilities against the ISO 55001 requirements, using a consistent scoring methodology to enable cross-site benchmarking. Findings were consolidated into a portfolio-level view, and a Strategic Asset Management Plan was developed setting the direction for improvement across the UK estate.
The operator used the SAMP and gap assessment findings to structure their certification preparation programme. Cross-site benchmarking identified best practice already existing within the portfolio that could be replicated at lower-performing sites — accelerating the improvement timeline.
